We want Saloncare to be usable regardless of ability, input device or assistive technology. This statement describes our standard, the state today and the places where we are not yet where we want to be.
Our standard
The benchmark we hold to.
This is an English translation provided for convenience. The German version is the legally binding one.
We build Saloncare to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.2 at conformance level AA. That is the benchmark against which we measure design and implementation. We do not treat accessibility as a check at the end but as part of every page and every component, from the first sketch.
For us accessibility is also a matter of attitude: a calm, clearly structured interface benefits everyone, not only those who rely on assistive technology.
In practice
What is already in place.
We apply these principles consistently across the website.
Keyboard operation
All interactive elements can be reached with the keyboard, in a sensible order, with a visible focus. Menus and forms work without a mouse.
Contrast and legibility
The palette of ink, cream and a single teal accent is designed for sufficient contrast. Text sizes can be enlarged in the browser without losing content.
Calm in motion
Animations are restrained and respect the system setting to reduce motion. Anyone with prefers-reduced-motion set sees static transitions.
Meaningful structure
Headings, lists and regions follow a logical order. Images carry alternative text wherever they carry content.
Clear forms
Input fields have visible labels above the field, not disappearing placeholders. Errors are named, not only indicated by colour.
Honesty
Where we still need to improve.
We say plainly that this statement describes a state, not a finished condition. Saloncare is in formation; the platform is growing, and so is the accessibility testing. Some areas we have not yet tested fully with assistive technology.
Known points we are working on:
- A complete, documented screen reader review across all pages is still outstanding.
- Complex tables and data views in the cockpit are being optimised for assistive technology step by step.
- Embedded media and demo videos are gradually receiving captions and text alternatives.
- A formal conformance assessment by an external body is planned but has not yet taken place.

We test accessibility in several steps: automated tests on every change, manual keyboard and contrast checks before every release, and spot tests with assistive technology. The figures below are an example snapshot and are updated with every larger release.

How quickly do you respond to a report?
We confirm receipt promptly and give a first assessment. We state the timeframe for a fix openly, according to the effort involved, rather than making unrealistic promises.
